My mom built me a dollhouse. It was a really nice one with real wood shingles, and paneling, real wood veneer floors, and trim, working electricty, working windows and doors, and a real wood staircase. Every room was wallpapered and fully furnished.
I loved the dollhouse.
I also loved animals... especially frogs and toads and turtles and salamanders and snakes...
Dolls?
Not so much.
So whenever I managed to catch one of the aforementioned critters, I'd bring them home to hang out in the dollhouse for a bit.
Salamanders in the bathtub (because that's the only plausible place really), frogs on furniture, snakes on staircases...
I liked to imagine that I was the same size as toads on tables and that we got to hang out in the dollhouse together. If i laid on my belly and looked into the rooms at eye level it was even easier to pretend we were best friends just hanging out in our miniature world...
