They say that crows will remember faces of people. They'll identify threats and let the entire crow community, even generations of crows know who the baddies are, and those folks will be avoided... blacklisted: canceled.
Unfortunately, I made the "stranger danger" list.
I wasn't trying to. I freaking love crows. They're probably my most favorite bird, I once saved one tangled in a fence, I leave food for them... and yet I'm on their sh*t list.
And I get it... chasing after them when they were landing in my chicken coop and indiscriminately stealing eggs out of the nesting boxes, there was bound to be miscommunication....
But that was almost a decade ago... and the crows still cackle madly when they see me. They avoid me at all costs, they refuse my food, my treats, my corvid peace offerings...
And I wonder... how long can a crow, how long will a crow, hold a grudge?
